Essen Spiel is one of the most important weekends of our year so the preparations have already started. You may have seen all the Mindclash Games titles on the BGG Essen Spiel ’19 preview list, but if you missed it, you can check out the full list here. If you spot something you like, please consider giving it a thumbs up, we’d really appreciate your support! Thank you!

Besides tracking your favorites, now you can also preorder the Trickerion: Dahlgaard’s Academy and the Trickerion: Dawn of Technology expansions on BGG until October 20 and pick them up at Essen at booth 2-F142. We will also demo these two games at our booth so you can also decide to get them on site but please kindly note that we will only accept cash payments at the convention.

Event report

Are you prepared for the dinosaur attacks in 2020?

SPIEL 2019 was the sixth time that Mindclash Games set up a booth at the Messe Essen for the biggest board game convention of the world. The hard work of preparing always pays off for conventions, since these events give us a great platform to meet our fans, backers, customers, and partners, while it’s also a great place to debut and demo games before their release.

For Mindclash Games, the focus of this year’s SPIEL was a stranded ocean liner, a mysterious island and its native dinosaurs: we have demoed the first entry of our upcoming game series Perseverance: Castaway Chronicles for the first time in public. The four standalone games called episodes of Perseverance are the biggest game and product design challenge this publisher has ever undertaken, and we are very grateful for everyone’s feedback on Episode 1. Your thoughts and impressions provided us with an extra amount of dedication to present you the first part of a really epic project on Kickstarter next spring.

We haven’t forgotten about time travel, illusionists and a cradle of emotions either, as our wonderful demo team - they really are the MVPs of our presence at SPIEL - also showcased and demoed the upcoming major expansion for Anachrony, the exclusive Trickerion Collector’s Edition, and Cerebria: The Inside World continuously to visitors at our booth.

While the demo tables and the booth space in general was filling up with people, our meeting room was also cramped with guests and partners, including the amazing hosts of the “Análisis-Parálisis / Juegos de Mesa” Spanish Youtube channel, who presented us with not one, not two but three awards for the Spanish edition of Anachrony (half of the credit goes to our Spanish publisher partner, Maldito Games). Our game design team has also received some very promising pitches, so the Mindclash newsletter subscribers can expect a new title to show up in our project table in the near future.

All in all, SPIEL in Essen this year has been a blast for Mindclash Games, thanks again for our amazing demo team and for everyone who came to our booth. See you next year in Germany!
