Our mission has always been more than delivering exceptional gameplay. We strive to build lasting connections with our community. Connections that grow stronger with every release, every interaction, and every shared experience. Maintaining and strengthening this bond is at the heart of everything we do, and that includes continuously improving how we communicate, support, and engage with you.

Recently, we asked you to share your thoughts about “how are we doing” in our comprehensive survey. The volume (almost 800 responses in just 2 weeks) and the depth of your answers were incredible. Now, the time has come to reveal what we’ve learned from you.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the survey was seeing just how global the Mindclash community has become. While our strongest presence remains in the United States and across Europe, it’s clear that Mindclash Games is reaching more players than ever before and we are thrilled to see our player base expanding all around the world. This global expansion is not only exciting, it challenges us.

What Makes You Tick? (Favorite Games and Mechanics)

Your Mindclash collection is quite heavy, just as your taste in general board-gaming. Across the board, your feedback highlights a strong preference for complex, strategic games that reward planning, foresight, and meaningful decision-making. Your collections reflect this as well, many of you own multiple Mindclash titles, with games like Anachrony, Voidfall, and Trickerion appearing frequently.

This tells us something important: you are thinkers, planners, and problem-solvers. You enjoy games that challenge you, that evolve over time, and that offer new layers to discover with each session.

Themes also matter. While mechanics are critical, they are elevated by strong, immersive worlds. Sci-fi, in particular, stands out as a favorite, reinforcing the importance of cohesive, well-developed universes that enhance the gameplay experience.

From a design perspective, one insight stands above the rest: you value systems that minimize randomness and emphasize control. Mechanics that reduce luck and instead focus on structure, sequencing, and optimization are what define a great experience for you. You are drawn to games where outcomes are earned, not given,  where every decision has weight and every turn contributes to a larger strategy.

For us, this is both validation and motivation. It confirms that our design philosophy resonates, and it challenges us to push even further.

What’s the Deal with Crowdfunding? 

Crowdfunding continues to play a central role in how you discover and acquire new games.

While you are still actively backing projects, the number of campaigns you support annually has become more selective, with most of you backing between one and five projects per year. This suggests a shift toward more thoughtful decision-making and a greater emphasis on trust, quality, and value.

For years, Kickstarter dominated the crowdfunding space. But your responses clearly show a shift toward Gamefound as your preferred platform. And we’re listening.

Your feedback has directly reinforced our decisions, and we are excited to confirm that our next Mindclash Games project will launch on Gamefound. This is a natural step forward, aligning our approach with your expectations and ensuring a smoother, more tailored experience for our community.

How Can We Reach You? (Communication & Marketing)

From a marketing perspective, this section was particularly insightful.

Understanding how you want to hear from us – and what kind of content you value – is essential to building meaningful communication. And your answers provided a clear and actionable roadmap.

When it comes to newsletters, your expectations are straightforward: you want content that is relevant, informative, and worth your time. Announcements of new games, special offers, and production or shipping updates are among the most valued topics. These are the touchpoints that keep you connected to the lifecycle of a game, from announcement to delivery.

At the same time, there is a strong appetite for deeper content. Designer diaries, behind-the-scenes insights, and development stories are highly appreciated. This tells us that you’re not just interested in the final product, but you care about the journey behind it. You want to understand the decisions, challenges, and creative processes that shape the games you love.

In terms of format, the preference is clear. Medium-length newsletters strike the perfect balance. They provide enough depth to be meaningful without becoming overwhelming. This reinforces the importance of thoughtful curation.

Your social media habits further refine this picture.

YouTube stands out as the leading platform, highlighting a strong demand for video content. Whether it’s gameplay demonstrations, in-depth explanations, or designer commentary, video is where engagement thrives. Facebook and Instagram follow as important secondary channels, supporting broader communication and community interaction.

Other platforms, such as Reddit, play a more specialized role. They are spaces for discussion and deeper engagement, but not the primary source of content consumption.

For us, the takeaway is clear. We need to invest more in video content, refine our newsletter strategy, and ensure that every piece of communication we deliver has purpose and value.

What’s Your Webshop Experience? (Efficiency & Aesthetics)

Your feedback on our webshop revealed both opportunities and clear priorities.

Currently, less than half of you have purchased directly from us. While this might seem like a limitation at first glance, it actually represents a significant opportunity for growth. It shows us that there is still potential to improve our presence.

Unsurprisingly, the main source of your motivation is value: price and discounts and free shipping are the absolute priorities.

You emphasized the importance of a smooth, frictionless experience. Clear product descriptions, intuitive navigation, and an easy checkout process are not just “nice to have” features. A complicated or confusing interface can quickly become a barrier, regardless of how appealing the product is.

This aligns closely with our design philosophy. Just as our games aim to be complex yet intuitive, our webshop should offer depth without friction.

We also asked about merchandise, and the results were enlightening. While nearly half of you are here strictly for the games, there is a dedicated group of enthusiasts looking for more. Apparel and limited-edition collectibles topped the list, followed by artwork.

Rest assured, we are taking these insights to heart. Our goal is to make the Mindclash webshop a premium destination that respects both your wallet and your time. Stay tuned, as we will soon launch amazing promotional campaigns perfectly aligned with your needs!

Did you Join The Digital Hub? (Website & Blog)

Our website serves as the central hub of the Mindclash experience, and your feedback confirms its importance.

For most of you, it functions as a reliable resource. A place to learn about our games, download rulebooks, and access essential information. In many ways, it acts as a digital library: structured, dependable, and functional.

But your expectations go beyond that. You’re looking for more dynamic, engaging content. Videos, tutorials, gameplay explanations, and strategy guides are among the most requested features.

Perhaps the most surprising insight, however, relates to our blog. Currently, only about a third of you actively read it. Even more striking is the fact that many of you were not even aware of its existence.

This is a clear signal that we need to do better not just in creating content, but in making it visible and accessible.

The blog has the potential to become a key part of our communication. A place for deeper storytelling, insights, and community engagement. And moving forward, we are committed to unlocking that potential with your ideas on the content.
